Each year of the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS) is comprised of the core data file and three additional files, in comma-separated value (CSV) format: Hospital Weights File, Supplemental Emergency Department File, and Supplemental Inpatient File. Beginning data year 2018, the Diagnosis and Procedure Groups File is available. The following links provide file specifications for the NEDS including the dataset name, number of records, and record layout for the comma-separated values (CSV) files.
