General Notes |
The procedure type indicator (PROCTYPE) identifies the type of procedure codes reported on the record -- ICD-9-CM, CPT/HCPCS, or both. The indicator values are based on all valid procedures for the discharge data, including those reported on the Core file and CDetail (if available). For data beginning in the fourth quarter of 2015, the procedure type indicator is stored in the data element I10_PROCTYPE to indicate the implementation of the ICD-10-CM/PCS coding system. |
