Maryland Beginning in 2006, REVCHGn field includes information about detailed charges associated with the identified revenue centers (REVCDn) and the units of service (UNITn). CHGn is no longer included in the MD SEDD files. Detailed charges (CHGn) pertain to identified revenue centers as indicated by the revenue code (REVCDn) and the units of service (UNITn), but not to the CPT procedure codes in CPTn. For example, CHG1 pertains to the revenue center coded in REVCD1 and the units of service specified in UNIT1. Nebraska Detailed charges (CHGn) pertain to identified revenue centers as indicated by the revenue code (REVCDn) and the units of service (UNITn) for one service (CPTn). For example, CHG1 pertains to the revenue center coded in REVCD1 and the units of service specified in UNIT1 for a specified service CPT1. New Jersey Beginning in 2007, detailed charges assocaited with specific revenue centers were contacined in REVCHGn. Detailed charges (CHGn) pertain to are associated with the identified revenue centers as indicated by the revenue code (REVCDn) and the units of service (UNITn) for one service (CPTn). For example, CHG1 pertains applies to the revenue center coded in REVCD1 and the units of service specified in UNIT1 for a specified service CPT1. For combination ambulatory surgery (AS) and emergency department (ED) events, CHG1 and UNIT1 includes charge and units, respectively, for emergency department services and REVCD1 has been set to "0450" to indicate ED services. No other detailed charge information is available for these combination records. North Carolina Detailed charge information was not provided with the ED data prior to 2011. South Carolina Negative values were set to invalid (.A) during HCUP processing. Beginning in 2005 South Carolina provided the charge detail in a separate, linkable file that included detailed charges which are associated with revenue centers and units of service. Due to incomplete charge information, this information was not retained on the HCUP databases in 2005. The line item revenue codes were used to assign the HCUP outpatient identifiers (HCUP_AS, HCUP_ED, and HCUP_OS) and also used to subtract professional fees from total charges but there is no detailed charge information on the 2005 South Carolina SASD and SEDD. Prior to 2005, South Carolina provided HCUP with discretely defined charge buckets, and associated units of service. From 1996-2005 South Carolina supplied 19 unit categories:
